You need to design for the elements of your location.
If your in a high wind area, standing seam metal roofing must be clipped down more frequently at the eaves, rakes and ridges of the roof. Done right standing seam can withstand category five hurricane forces. You may never need such a system, but it is comforting as a designer, and installer that I am able to provide my clients with the most weather tight roof available.
If you get large amounts of rain, sleet and snow, metal roofing, especially standing seam will release that moisture quicker than a regular asphalt shingle roof.
If you have a low slope to your roof, standing seam will be able to accommodate this application.
Additional accessories for a metal roof can create a safe entrance, protect against lightning strikes (if your property is susceptible to these events), protect roof top penetrations, securely attach roof top equipment such as HVAC equipment, solar collectors, television antennae, satellite dishes, even decorative simulated dormers, weather vanes or cupolas.

The most important detail
The most important detail is ALL THE DETAILS! From first communication, to supplier contact, fabrication, delivery, and installation; they all add up to a smooth flawless finished project and a satisfied client. I talk to homeowners constantly. I stress that the communication you get from the potential contractor is what you can anticipate once the project starts. Ask yourself this question before accepting that low ball quote; is the $2000 I save with the chronically late and unprofessional contractor really worth it?

I'm finally COOL!
Yep, you got it. I'M COOL! It took me 30+ years to be COOL, but now that I am, I plan on staying that way. Of course it took a metal roof with reflective pigments to get me there. The best part about the coatings on my metal roofing products are that you can get a cool roof in black, blue, red, gray or any color (26 different hues!). If you have question on this topic or other metal roofing questions please email me at prominencesolutions@yahoo.com . Chao!

Metal On My Mind
I guess this blog should start with a pitch point or some attempt to provide a mission statement. Metal is better and through this blog I hope to educate others and learn something in the process. So there! That's as simple as I can make it with what little brain power I'm willing to exert today! Kaizen!
